Ensure Box Office issues are resolved around the clock.
Manage the house during performances.
Assist with coordination of production-related elements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include
but are not limited to:
- Act as house manager for all events as needed; train and
schedule all other house managers, box office staff, ushers and
volunteers.
- Maintain the Music, Theatre and Dance season calendar; schedule
rehearsals and performances so they appear on the University
calendar.
- Market Music, Theatre and Dance events to audiences beyond
Salve through local events calendars and Mailchimp e-blasts.
- Communicate with university offices including Marketing &
Communications, Safety & Security, and University Events and
Conference Services as needed.
- Schedule equipment load-ins and loadouts, piano moves and
tunings, ushers, parking, security, concessions, and custodial
coverage for rehearsals and events.
- Communicate building, event, and life safety policies and
procedures.
- Complete additional duties and/or responsibilities as
assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Approximately up to 20 hours/week during the academic year not
including holidays or winter break. October - May.
Requirements:
Required :
- Associate's degree in theatre or dance.
- House management experience.
- Ability and willingness to regularly work a flexible and varied
schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to problem solve and work with people.
- Ability to maintain organization, strict accuracy and be
detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with others and be
self-motivated.
Preferred :
- Bachelor's degree in theatre or dance preferred.
