Job Overview
Responsible for developing clear, compelling, and consistent messaging that reflects and advances the University’s brand. Collaborate closely with news, digital, creative, social, paid media, analytics and strategy partners to deliver content that performs.
Essential Functions
- Own, document, and evolve the university’s brand voice and tone, serving as the primary authority on brand language.
- Coach and support colleagues to ensure consistent voice and messaging across institutional communications.
- Write clear, compelling copy across platforms, including websites, landing pages, digital and print campaigns, social media, email, enrollment and donor communications, executive messaging, and reputation‑building content.
- Develop accessible and engaging narratives that elevate institutional identity and feature stories that translate complex topics into accessible, engaging content.
- Create messaging frameworks that align institutional strategy with audience‑specific storytelling.
- Produce performance‑focused copy for search, display, paid social, print advertising, and emerging zero‑click and AI‑driven environments.
- Partner with creative, digital, media, and campaign teams to concept and execute integrated campaigns across web, email, social, and paid channels.
- Contribute to content audits and the development of training resources that improve quality, consistency, and adoption of brand standards among faculty and staff.
- Review and refine content to ensure alignment with brand voice, editorial standards, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and accessibility best practices.
- Apply SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and AI‑optimization principles including Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness (EEAT) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to improve visibility across search engines, answer engines, and generative AI platforms.
- Manage on‑page SEO elements within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Partner with analytics and digital teams to analyze performance and continuously optimize content.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of professional copywriting or content production experience, ideally within a marketing team, agency, or complex multi-channel environment
Physical Requirements/Work Environment - Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information: 60,000
