  • Remuneration: $172,761 to $193,229 pa (HEW10) (inclusive of $145,985 to $163,281 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join Office of the Provost, Academic Division.

The Business Development Manager, QUT Leadership Institute will play a pivotal role in supporting the establishment and driving the growth of the new Institute through identifying new market opportunities, forging and nurturing strategic relationships with clients and partners locally, nationally and globally and expanding a diverse client portfolio. This position requires a deep understanding of the executive education and leadership sector, strong networking skills and the ability to translate market needs into signature training and education programs and events that align with the Institute’s mission and offerings.

The Office of the Provost is co-located with the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. Staff within the Office provide high-level executive and professional support to the Provost. The Provost is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor and President for the leadership and management of the Academic Division including the university’s five Faculties, through the Executive Deans of Faculties, has managerial oversight of the Education and Research Portfolios, and oversees the Carumba Institute and the QUT Leadership Institute..

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area, in conjunction with demonstrated extensive experience in a commercial and/or Government related environment.
  2. Demonstrated ability to collaborate, build and maintain effective relationships across staff, colleagues, networks and other external bodies to achieve business outcomes.
  3. Proven success in new business and partnership development, with a strong track record of building and managing sales pipelines, generating leads and closing deals with senior executive to exceed growth targets and deliver against agreed outcomes.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, problem solve and prioritise matters in an environment with constant and concurrent deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated ability to drive client success through innovative partnership strategies and co-created solutions.
  6. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to produce high level documentation for executive level stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
