Posting Description

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST, Professional Education (PE), will play a crucial role in supporting the PE Marketing and Communications team in driving revenue growth and market expansion by executing effective business development initiatives and attend conferences and support conference logistics. They will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong relationships with exciting clients, potential clients, learners, and strategic partners. MIT PE is a leader in technology and engineering education for working professionals globally, pursuing career advancement, and for organizations seeking to meet modern-day challenges by expanding the knowledge and skills of their employees. Programs are delivered in a range of formats (in-person, on-campus, live virtual, online, and through blended approaches) and in multiple languages to meet the needs of today's learners.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; minimum of two years of related work experience in a business development role; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment; excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; proficient in using marketing software and tools, such as email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and analytics platforms; working knowledge of digital marketing channels, including social media, content marketing, SEO, and email marketing; experience implementing lead segmentation strategies; strong organizational multitasking, and analytical optimization; strong interpersonal skills; ability to build collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels; team-oriented, self-motivated, organized, flexible, and resourceful; ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings and weekends; ability to grasp and understand new market needs and gauge cultural differences and be able to lift 20 pounds and help transport marketing materials and boxes to events. PREFERRED: Experience in business development/marketing in Higher Education, or in Salesforce or other CRM system experience; or familiarity with AI tools.
