CAD Documentation Specialist
Job Summary
Develops and implements policies governing the collection and maintenance of computer aided design (CAD) activities to complete projects, serves as documentarian for facilities project document repository, and ensures archives are properly maintained and disposed. Primary end-user resource for CAD user training, processing and effective use of software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support projects/clients by creating, collecting and maintaining CAD documentation including but limited to creating plans, drawings and proposed layouts to create the final product by calculating engineering computations and preparing specifications.
- Develop standards dictating the accuracy of documentation and completeness of files and implement processes for investigating and resolving discrepancies. Serve as subject matter expert for CAD related issues and concerns.
- Establish and enforce processes for document approval, distribution, modification, and destruction in accordance with HCC policies and regulatory requirements. Use an electronic document/record management system.
- Collaborate with IT on required CAD equipment and software configuration, set-up, modification, and destruction. Use an electronic document/record management system.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and make recommendations as appropriate.
- Develop end-user training and standard operation procedure manuals.
- Report and compile information on operations for documentation purposes.
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external staff/clients and vendors.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of Event Management System (EMS).
- Monitor the operation of signage system. Ensure the maintenance of all facility signage both electronically and paper.
- Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree required preferably in Technical Management, Design Technology, or Drafting
- 4 years experience working with AutoCAD required
Licensing & Certification
- Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
