This role sits within the Student Services and Administration (SSA) division, which plays a vital role in delivering and coordinating the support services and initiatives that help our students thrive. SSA brings together a community of professional and accredited practitioners who work closely with students throughout their AUT journey to provide advice, care, and advocacy across a wide range of areas. The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
As a campaign coordinator and storyteller, you will deliver engaging campaigns that build pride in AUT and strengthen students’ connection to the University and to one another. This role is central to connecting students with the services and information they need to succeed academically while supporting their personal wellbeing. You will also play a key role in embedding te reo Māori and tikanga Māori in student communications, supporting AUT’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi as expressed through Te Aronui.
A collaborative and confident communications professional - you will work with diverse stakeholders across the University to identify gaps, challenges and opportunities, and shape effective responses. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Student Communications, you will bring strong channel strategy experience and help strengthen and grow AUT’s communications channel approach across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in writing and delivering content for a range of publications and platforms
- Proven experience and proficiency in creating written and verbal communication materials and multi-media content in both English and te reo Māori
- Proven experience in multi-channel campaign delivery using traditional and digital tactics to deliver community engagement
- Project management from project definition and planning through to project review
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in a professional environment
- Understanding of digital/online communication issues and trends
- Demonstrable experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- Translate institutional, regulatory, and service information into clear, audience-centred communications
- Analyse campaign performance to provide insights, recommendations, and reports that inform continuous improvement
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and escalate conflicting priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Salary Ranges | Ngā Utu: $76,000 - $102,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
