Join Our Dynamic Master of Counselling Faculty!

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of counselling professionals? City University in Canada invites experienced clinicians to join our vibrant BC Master of Counselling program in Vancouver. We offer a collaborative environment where clinical training, scholarship, social justice, and ethical practice are at the core of what we do.

Our innovative learning formats are designed for working adults, with flexible in-person classes (Thurs-Fri, Saturday) and blended options that mix online engagement with in-person residencies. Our students thrive when mentored by practitioners who bring real-world experience into the classroom.

As Associate Faculty, you'll become part of an enthusiastic team dedicated to guiding, mentoring, and inspiring emerging counsellors. New colleagues benefit from comprehensive orientation, ongoing mentorship, and a supportive, collegial culture where your professional and teaching growth matter.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach graduate-level counselling courses (specific areas of expertise may be discussed)
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive, and innovative learning environment
  • Evaluate student performance and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback
  • Collaborate on developing and refining curricula and teaching resources
  • Attend faculty meetings and contribute to our community through consultation and student support

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree, doctoral degree or PhD preferred in Counselling Psychology or a related field (from a recognized, accredited program: CCPA, CPA, BCACC, BCCSW, or equivalent)
  • Registration with a relevant professional association (CCPA, BCACC, BCCSW, or similar)
  • At least five years of clinical experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and commitment to the First Peoples Principles of Learning
  • Prior post-secondary teaching experience is an asset

Subject matter expertise in any the following is in demand:

  • Counselling theories
  • Psychology & Psychopharmacology
  • Human Development and Sexuality
  • Family Systems
  • Testing and Assessment
  • Psychology of Aging
  • Clinical Supervision

Salary

The Part-time Teaching Faculty salary is based on the course level, faculty registration and experience, and the number of course credits (1-5).
