Position Purpose:
Provides transformative career and life design coaching ensuring each student they work with has the exploration tools to successfully navigate their transition to college and gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to lead a purpose-driven life to achieve First Destination Success (FDS). Support career and life design programs for students transitioning into college, engaging in active and experiential learning, and preparing for life after graduation. Develop and maintain relationships with program coordinators, faculty, and academic partners to support the career and life design needs of their curriculum, and the career and life design needs of their students and alumni. Research and provide current and future student-focused career-related trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Previous professional experience in corporate relations or related field.
- Possess a dynamic, growth-mindset and professional demeanor with exceptional organization, written, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to multitask. Exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement.
- Exhibit a motivated/enthusiastic work style.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to utilize career coaching skills with students and graduates.
- Local travel is necessary when conducting site visits or attending networking functions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to develop social capital connections with industry partners for prospective opportunities.
- Experience with college recruiting, corporate relations development, and career advising.
Candidates for this position will be asked to deliver a short presentation on a career-advising topic as part of the interview process.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or desired in the future.
