Career Navigator – Workforce Development
Job Description
The Career Navigator supports the Workforce and Community Education division's Workforce Development students by serving as a central point of contact for students and offering intensive student support to recruit and enhance retention and completion. The Career Navigator provides on-going personal connections with workforce development students and develops meaningful professional relationships with government and industry employers.
The Career Navigator will be based in the Leading Edge Training Center, powered by the Ratcliffe Foundation, located at the Boys and Girls Club of Edgewood. This position will also support the Workforce Training Center at Water's Edge.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Required Education:
Associates degree
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in guiding, training, delivering, and/or leading instruction.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment
- Current knowledge of the workforce and economic development industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build and leverage professional relationships, facilitate career workshops, and identify employment opportunities
- Ability to monitor student progress, recruit students, develop student career plans
- Ability to work with employers to identify strengths of students completing the program.
