Casual Lifeguard (part-time) - Athletics, Division of Student Affairs

Carnegie Mellon University's department of Athletics is searching for multiple Non-CMU Student Part-Time Casual Lifeguards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position. Priority consideration and preference will be given for individuals that have familiarity with the Carnegie Mellon community and university facilities.
Core responsibilities include:
- Ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies
- Exhibit knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques
- Understand facilities policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

You should demonstrate:
- Flexibility and punctuality
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications:
- ARC or YMCA lifeguard training
- ARC Standard First Aid & CPR for Professional Rescuer
- AED Training
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
Requirements:
- Successful pre-employment background check
- Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)
Additional Information:
- Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. We will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity. Carnegie Mellon is not a qualifying employer for the STEM OPT benefit: only the 12-month OPT may be used to work at Carnegie Mellon.
