Casual Test Library Assistant

The SoPS Test Library is seeking a Casual Test Library Assistant for collection circulation activities such as loans, returns, audits, and accessioning of new resources into the collection (physical and digital assets).
Do you have a passion for university teaching collections and collection management? The SoPS Test Library is a unique restricted access collection utilised in teaching and research within the School of Psychological Sciences.
We are seeking a Casual Test Library Assistant for collection circulation activities such as loans, returns, audits, and accessioning of new resources into the collection (physical and digital assets).
Role & Responsibilities:
- Relief Test Library (TL) administrator – duties include all day-to-day duties required to operate the TL
- Assist in the Semester One and Semester Two collection access coordination for students from the units that require access to the collection. This includes 120+ first year master students, and 50+ placement students from this school.
- Assist with the 2026 collection audits (in two locations on campus)
- Assist in the organisation of resources for masters' units ahead of proposed changes in 2027
- Assist in circulation of Test Library resources - includes psychometric tests and publications
- Assist in allocation of digital resources linked to physical kits, and 'un-allocation' once physical kits have been 'returned'
- Assist in the accessioning of new resources into the test library's collection.
- Adhering to and understanding specific copyright restrictions, as this is a restricted access collection.
This position offers work for 7 hours a week; worked as one full day or two half days per week. Preferred weekdays are Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Additional hours available for relief cover for staff leave, and peak periods throughout the year.
About You:
- Interested in Library/Teaching/Museum collections in the university context
- Organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively and autonomously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Qualifications or Experience within this area would be preferred.
- Experience in collection or library database systems and MS Office would be an advantage.
