The Central Supply Tech will be responsible for cleaning and processing supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices. Follows appropriate procedures, protocols and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.

• Processes contaminated instruments and supplies returned to Central Service.
• Uses knowledge of sterilization principles to correctly wrap or package items for sterilization.
• Assists with processing department supply charges and any other clerical work related to the Central Service, as requested.
• Works closely with Central Lead Technician and assists with orientation for new personnel.
• Applies aseptic techniques in daily work assignments.
• Performs general cleaning of department surface areas, racks, shelves, storage cabinets and all storage area.

Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. (required)
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician. (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department. (preferred)
• Knowledgeable in cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques. (preferred)
• Basic understanding of various functions of the department. Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures. (preferred)
• Basic computer knowledge. (preferred)
