We are now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/Professors/Chair Professors (on substantiation-track) in all academic fields with special focuses on One Health, Digital Society, Smart City, Matter, Brain, and related interdisciplinary areas. Successful candidates should have a demonstrated ability to build a world-class research programme related to CityUHK’s strategic research areas, plus a commitment to education and student mentorship. Candidates must possess a doctorate in their respective field by the time of appointment.

Duties

Teach courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; seek competitive research funding and conduct research; supervise students; carry out administrative duties and other duties to support the development of the Department, College and the University; and undertake scholarly activities to enhance the international visibility and reputation of the Department.

Requirements

A PhD in related disciplines including but not limited to Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Engineering and Management, and Environmental Engineering.

To align with the strategic development of the Department, candidates in the following specialized areas will be given a high priority:

1. Architecture - sustainable development and low carbon design, smart city and data-driven planning; design computation and parametric architecture, and adaptive architecture.
2. Civil Engineering - smart transportation, water resources, advanced construction materials, intelligent infrastructure systems, and automation and robotics.

Consideration will be given to applicants with academic qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Material Science, Energy and Geography if their research directions are closely related to Architecture and Civil Engineering aspects.

Candidates for Professor or above should have established a distinctive international reputation in their respective disciplines.

Candidates for Associate Professor should have a strong track record in attracting competitive research grants and extensive publications in high impact journals.

Relevant industrial experience and/or membership of relevant professional bodies would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
