Position Summary
The Chairperson of the BS in International Business program provides academic, strategic, and administrative leadership to guide the launch, development, and long-term success of the program at LAU New York. The role includes advancing academic alignment with the Adnan Kassar School of Business in Lebanon, collaborating closely with the Executive Director of LAU New York on non-academic operations, and supporting the university’s expanding academic portfolio in North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the academic vision, curriculum development, and continuous enhancement of the BS in International Business program aligned with AACSB, NECHE, and institutional standards.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, scheduling, and academic evaluation for courses offered at the New York campus, in coordination with academic leadership in Lebanon.
- Guide program assessment and quality assurance efforts to ensure rigorous learning outcomes and continuous academic improvement.
- Work closely with the Executive Director of LAU New York on non-academic areas such as student recruitment, academic support services, student experience, and library coordination.
- Lead the launch and academic oversight of several MBA programs based in North America, including online delivery and potential hybrid or in-person offerings.
- Develop and promote research initiatives that strengthen faculty and student engagement, encourage collaboration with colleagues in Lebanon, and support efforts to pursue grants and external funding.
- Build and sustain partnerships with industry in New York and internationally to expand experiential learning, internships, entrepreneurship pathways, and career opportunities for students.
- Foster a student-centered academic culture through advising, mentoring, and active participation in student development activities.
- Ensure program compliance with institutional policies, accreditation requirements, and NYSED regulations.
- Represent the program in university committees, accreditation processes, faculty governance, and external engagements.
- Collaborate effectively across campuses, demonstrating flexibility with time differences and an ability to operate within a multi-campus academic ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in International Business, Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- A distinguished record of research, teaching, and service that merits appointment at the associate or full professor level on a tenure-track line.
- Evidence of strong scholarly productivity and an ongoing research agenda.
- Familiarity with AACSB accreditation requirements and undergraduate and graduate program assessment.
- Ability to engage with New York’s business ecosystem and cultivate partnerships that support academic and experiential learning.
- Commitment to student learning, mentorship, and to the mission and values of LAU.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across international or multi-campus academic environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build or expand academic programs, particularly graduate and professional offerings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Capacity to contribute to a dynamic and entrepreneurial academic setting.
