Chemistry Faculty (Unlimited Full-Time)
Job Description
Minneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community college in Minnesota, is accepting applications for the position of an unlimited, full-time faculty member in Chemistry.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Teaching a full-time load (30 credits per academic year) in chemistry. Courses include both lecture and lab of Introduction to Chemistry, General Chemistry, and maybe also Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Chemistry in Your Life.
- Delivering instruction with on-campus, blended and online modalities through Learning Management System such as D2L Brightspace. The schedule may include both daytime and evenings.
- Holding 5 office hours per week.
- Providing quality instruction and services to a very diverse student population.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current, in field knowledge and pedagogies that expand breadth and depth of understanding in the discipline.
- Participating in departmental, school and college meetings to maintain collegial and cooperative work relationships with colleagues and all college personnel.
- Participating in course, department, and institutional review, revision, and assessment projects.
Position Start Date: Fall Semester 2026 (August 20, 2026)
Salary Range: Full-time faculty salaries currently range from $43,067- $94,542 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023- 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Master's degree with a major in chemistry or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in chemistry.
Preferred Qualification
- Demonstrated ability to teach chemistry courses to a diverse student population, with a minimum of one year of lecture/lab teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in various modalities, including on-campus, blended and online.
- Proficiency with a Learning Management System such as D2L Brightspace.
- Experience with operating and maintaining lab equipment.
- Familiarity with improving an existing course or even developing a new course.
- Proven understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the communities that they serve.
Other Requirements
Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
