Chief Mission and Impact Officer

Overview

The Chief Mission and Impact Officer ensures we are fulfilling our mission, “To ignite and nurture creative, ethical, and scientific minds that advance the human condition,” as well as our second legislative charge: “to stimulate further excellence for all Illinois schools in mathematics and science.” This embodies the development and implementation of an enrollment management strategy, new approaches to access IMSA, engagement with educators, and using metrics to evaluate our impact across the state. The Chief Mission and Impact Officer will use a data-driven approach to attract and retain underrepresented participation to IMSA and IMSA programs with a desire to make IMSA accessible everywhere. The Chief Mission and Impact Officer reports to the President and is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

The internationally recognized Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) develops creative, ethical leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This Equity and Excellence work is the intentional integration of Cultural Competence, Diversity, Equity, Equity-Minded Frame, Excellence and Inclusion into every facet of the Academy, with the understanding that it is an active and ongoing process involving structures, processes and people and not an isolated initiative.

This position will support IMSA's Diversity work by ensuring the delivery of quality, equitable, and inclusive constituent-centered support while promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that embraces the diversity of people and perspectives collaborating at IMSA to ignite and nurture creative, ethical, scientific minds that advance the human condition.
