The Center for Physical Sciences and Technology announces an open competition for Chief Researcher position (1,0 FTE) for a five-year term in the Department of Laser Technology.
Topic for Competitive Positions: "Development of additive and smart manufacturing technology platforms: new materials, process optimization, AI control, prototyping, and dual-use applications".
A salary €3,685/month (before taxes).

Description of the Minimum Qualification Requirements for the Positions of Researchers
Specific Requirements
Applicants wishing to participate in the competition are requested to submit the following documents:
- An application addressed to the Director of FTMC to participate in the competition, indicating the position applied for, together with a description of the submitted documents *(*free format).
- A copy of an identity document, if the applicant has not previously had an employment relationship with FTMC.
- curriculum vitae.
- Copies of higher education and scientific degree documents, if the applicant has not previously had an employment relationship with FTMC.
- A five-year activity plan coordinated with the Head of the Research Department to which the applicant is applying.
- A list of scientific and science-popularization publications generated from the eLABa system (if unavailable in the eLABa system, the list shall be submitted in free format).
- Other documents supporting the applicant’s scientific qualifications, at the applicant’s discretion.

The Chief Researcher shall have the following rights:
- within the scope of competence, participate in competitions for research programmes and projects and receive and use allocated funds for research and studies;
- participate in competitions for internships in the Republic of Lithuania and abroad;
- obtain from state institutions information necessary for scientific work. If such information constitutes a state or official secret, it shall be provided and used in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts;
- participate in discussions regarding the Articles of Association of the Center and directions of activity;
- participate in various professional unions and associations, including those operating abroad;
- work independently or join creative groups;
- independently publish scientific works;
- exercise other employee rights established by legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and local legal acts of the workplace.

Additional comments
The Chief Researcher shall:
- properly perform planned scientific research, other obligations and assignments;
- prepare methodologies for scientific research;
- within the scope of competence, submit applications for national and international research and experimental development (R&D) projects and/or scientific research, experimental development and innovation (RDI) projects;
- manage national and international R&D and RDI projects;
- participate in scientific research groups;
- protect confidential information, trade secrets, best practices (know-how), and information concerning service inventions in accordance with the procedures established by the Center's internal legal acts;
- supervise researchers, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and educate university and higher education students;
- participate in working groups in the Republic of Lithuania and internationally according to the research field and qualifications;
- submit proposals for the drafting and improvement of legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and international legal acts;
- publish scientific works in accordance with the procedures established by the Center;
- use the practical results of research to create new products and technologies;
- deliver presentations at national and international scientific conferences;
- engage in science communication activities;
- perform other work important for the development of the country's economy, culture and society;
- maintain and preserve documentation related to scientific work;
- carry out instructions and assignments of the Head of the Division, Laboratory Head and Administration;
- perform duties in compliance with applicable legislation and internal regulations.
