Description of the Minimum Qualification Requirements for the Positions of Researchers

Specific Requirements

Applicants wishing to participate in the competition are requested to submit the following documents:

1. An application addressed to the Director of FTMC to participate in the competition, indicating the position applied for, together with a description of the submitted documents *(*free format).
2. A copy of an identity document, if the applicant has not previously had an employment relationship with FTMC.
3. curriculum vitae.
4. Copies of higher education and scientific degree documents, if the applicant has not previously had an employment relationship with FTMC.
5. A five-year activity plan coordinated with the Head of the Research Department to which the applicant is applying.
6. A list of scientific and science-popularization publications generated from the eLABa system (if unavailable in the eLABa system, the list shall be submitted in free format).
7. Other documents supporting the applicant’s scientific qualifications, at the applicant’s discretion.

The Chief Researcher shall have the following rights:

1. within the scope of competence, participate in competitions for research programmes and projects and receive and use allocated funds for research and studies;
2. participate in competitions for internships in the Republic of Lithuania and abroad;
3. obtain from state institutions information necessary for scientific work. If such information constitutes a state or official secret, it shall be provided and used in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts;
4. participate in discussions regarding the Articles of Association of the Center and directions of activity;
5. participate in various professional unions and associations, including those operating abroad;

7. independently publish scientific works;

Additional comments

The Chief Researcher shall:

1. properly perform planned scientific research, other obligations and assignments;
2. prepare methodologies for scientific research;
3. within the scope of competence, submit applications for national and international research and experimental development (R&D) projects and/or scientific research, experimental development and innovation (RDI) projects;
4. manage national and international R&D and RDI projects;
5. participate in scientific research groups;
6. protect confidential information, trade secrets, best practices (know-how), and information concerning service inventions in accordance with the procedures established by the Center's internal legal acts;
7. supervise researchers, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and educate university and higher education students;
8. participate in working groups in the Republic of Lithuania and internationally according to the research field and qualifications;
9. submit proposals for the drafting and improvement of legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and international legal acts;
10. publish scientific works in accordance with the procedures established by the Center;
11. use the practical results of research to create new products and technologies;
12. deliver presentations at national and international scientific conferences;
13. engage in science communication activities;
14. perform other work important for the development of the country's economy, culture and society;
15. maintain and preserve documentation related to scientific work;
16. carry out instructions and assignments of the Head of the Division, Laboratory Head and Administration;
17. perform duties in compliance with applicable legislation and internal regulations.
