Description

The Yale Cancer Center (YCC) and the Department of Internal Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) seek nationally recognized, dynamic, and visionary leader who is board certified/board eligible in medical oncology and/or hematology to become the Section Chief of Medical Oncology and Hematology in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs at the YCC. As the leader of one of the largest and most complex sections within the Department of Medicine, the Section Chief of Medical Oncology and Hematology is responsible for academic advancement, mentorship, and career development of the faculty. As the Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs at the YCC, they will support and engage clinicians across multiple specialties and multiple sites. These critical roles bridge clinical excellence, research innovation, and faculty development at one of the nation’s most storied academic medical centers and is a transformative opportunity to lead at a premier institution where world-class science meets a rapidly expanding clinical enterprise.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have: an MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent clinical doctoral degree with board-certification; significant experience as a clinical leader at an academic medical center; an outstanding record of scholarly accomplishment and national recognition in medical oncology or hematology; a demonstrated track record of extramurally funded research for clinical investigation, translational research, basic laboratory studies, and/or health services research; a strong commitment to education across a broad spectrum of learners; a record commensurate with appointment to the rank of professor at Yale School of Medicine; and be eligible for licensure in Connecticut.
