Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education, or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education
OR
Bachelors degree in any of the above
AND Masters degree in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies, or family and consumer studies
OR
The equivalent.
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Equivalencies

The Equivalency is: A Masters degree in education AND/OR special education with 24 units in child development PLUS experience working with children in a group setting for (3) three consecutive years with at least two (2) years with children birth to age 12.

Responsibilities

Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.

Desired Qualifications

Willingness to teach Dual Enrollment classes at local high schools.
