Child Neuropsychologist – Neurodevelopmental Disabilities
West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is seeking a Child Neuropsychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: Clinical responsibilities include neuropsychological evaluations of neurological, neurosurgical, medical and psychiatric pediatric populations. This is a clinical position with strong teaching and supervision expectations within our APA-accredited clinical neuropsychology internship and our APPCN postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology.
Additional teaching opportunities exist with medical students and residents within the department and broader community on topics relevant to psychology/neuropsychology. Research involvement is expected.
The psychologist will primarily work in an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients, ages 0-15, who are served at the WVU Medicine Children's Neurodevelopmental Center. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the psychologist will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents, and psychology graduate students and fellows. The candidate will be involved in our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship in our Clinical Child Track, and our Pediatric Fellowship. There are a variety of opportunities for involvement with interdisciplinary clinics across the hospital system as well as involvement in outreach and training for families and statewide providers. Research opportunities within the NDC are also plentiful.
The Successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at other worksites, including but not necessarily limited to, West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc., West Virginia University Medical Corporation doing business as “University Health Associates,” located in West Virginia and, as such, travel is anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these other worksites.
Qualifications: Completion of APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program. APA/CPA accredited internship with a neuropsychology focus. 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Eligibility to sit for ABPP in clinical neuropsychology. A focus on pediatric clinical neuropsychology is necessary. Immediate eligibility for licensure in West Virginia is required.
