Facilities Services works to continuously improve the campus in partnership with all members of the University community to ensure that classrooms, laboratories, and offices support teaching, learning and research.
Position Summary
Serves as civil engineering campus expert for all capital projects, including renovations, expansions and new facilities; collect, develop, and analyze technical data to determine project requirements and preparation of information regarding specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion times.
Responsibilities
- Functions as Facilities Services project engineer (civil/structural) for campus wide water, sewer and storm distribution systems.
- Serves as engineering liaison to coordinate communications between chief architects, chief engineers and engineering staff members and Facilities Services Utilities Operations Plumbing Shop.
- Coordinates all or most segments of a project, from inception to completion.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with engineering flow/hydraulic principals and software modeling systems (e.g. EPANET, KYPipe, SewerGEMS).
- 10 years of experience in utility distribution operations & maintenance and/or design.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited school.
- State of California Professional engineering license; Current and clear Professional Engineering (PE) License.
