Team Leader, Specialist Technology

  • Remuneration: $152,734 to $160,006 pa (HEW9) (inclusive of $129,062 to $135,207 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Team Leader, Specialist Technology to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.

The Team Leader, Specialist Technology Solutions provides leadership, management and coordination to a team of technology specialists across a range of high-end computing facilities. This role is responsible for prioritising workloads across the team and managing competing priorities to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective client focussed technology support services across QUT. The Specialist Technology Solutions team provides frontline support and expert advice across a complex range of bespoke and tailored research, learning and teaching platforms. The team supports high-performance end-point computing and their connection to critical research equipment and peripherals.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications together with extensive experience in a technology leadership role.
  2. Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, provide clear direction and negotiate, manage and escalate any conflicts.
  3. Proven communication and interpersonal skills, highlighted by the ability to forge positive rapport across all organisational tiers, negotiating with stakeholders and partners to implement effective specialised solutions.
  4. Demonstrated record of expertise and experience in deploying best practices to strategically address specialised business requirements and challenges in a sustainable and scalable manner.
  5. Proven record in developing and managing operational plans and roadmaps, including providing comprehensive data insights and reporting on team activities and performance to inform decision-making processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  6. Demonstrated experience in collaborating with developers, analysts, designers, and external partners to conceptualise, implement, and support solutions that meet business requirements while fostering a close working relationship with partners to deliver common outcomes aligned with the needs of the university.
