Clinical Assistant Professor, Core Faculty, DPT Program
Position Summary
Oklahoma City University invites applications for two full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Core Faculty in the Physical Therapy Program.
The successful candidate will contribute to the education and development of future physical therapy professionals while supporting the program’s mission, goals, and learning outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in implementing the curriculum, student mentorship, and program advancement in a dynamic academic environment located in the heart of Oklahoma City.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality courses in area(s) of clinical expertise
- Ensure excellence in clinical and didactic education for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students
- Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment
Scholarship & Service
- Engage in scholarly activities consistent with university and program expectations
- Conduct and/or collaborate on research within area of clinical expertise
- Maintain an active scholarly agenda
Program & Institutional Contribution
- Participate in program evaluation, implementation and revision of the curriculum, and assessment activities
- Serve on program, college, and/or university committees and contribute to institutional initiatives
- Support accreditation standards, including expectations aligned with Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (post-professional doctorate or DPT with advanced clinical specialization)
- Current physical therapy licensure or eligibility for licensure
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Contemporary clinical expertise in a defined practice area
- Experience in designing and conducting independent or collaborative research
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in neurologic conditions or other areas of specialty practice within physical therapy
- Advanced clinical specialization (e.g., board certification)
- Completion of residency and/or fellowship training
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a physical therapy academic program
- Active participation in professional organizations (local, state, or national), such as the American Physical Therapy Association
- Evidence of ongoing scholarly productivity
