Clinical Faculty
Job Summary/Basic Functions
The School of Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty position for academic year 2026-2027. Applicants should hold an earned Master of Science in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. A MSN as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and doctoral degree (verified by official transcripts) in nursing or a related field is preferred. The position begins August 2026.
The position serves the School of Nursing. It requires an active and unencumbered nursing license in KY or a compact state. The successful candidate may teach across nursing programs in both undergraduate and graduate didactic and clinical courses in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution, conduct academic advising or review of student applications to graduate program, and participate in department committees.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Earned Masters of Science in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution (verified by official transcripts) at time of appointment.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience. Knowledge of current practices in professional nursing. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Analytic and problems solving skills. Active and effective listening skills. Ability to collaborate with peers and students. Ability to understand and adapt to current trends in professional nursing.
Licensure & Certifications: Active & unencumbered nursing license in the state of KY or compact state.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of two (2) years experience teaching at the college or university level (didactic, clinical and/or online). A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in mental health nursing or as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. A doctoral degree (verified by official transcripts) in nursing or a related field is preferred.
