About the Role
We are currently seeking a Clinical Fellow – Program Development to join our team within the Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences at Swinburne University and play a key role within Mental Health Online, an Australian Government Department of Health funded online mental health service.
Mental Health Online provides online, self-guided, cognitive-behavioural therapy programs for a range of mental health problems. Users can register to use the programs self-directed, or with therapist support available via videoconferencing, real-time text chat, and email. Therapist support is primarily provided by postgraduate clinical psychology students from Swinburne and other universities, supported by both group and individual supervision structures, and a close relationship with Swinburne’s Psychology Clinic.
In this specialised role, you will be responsible for the development and evaluation of new therapeutic content and revision of existing content for Mental Health Online treatment programs. You will also contribute to research, quality and evaluation activities relating to clinical content and service improvement, including obtaining feedback from service users and clinical experts and contributing to reports and publications.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of interventions for high prevalence mental health disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression).
- A high degree of organisational and administrative skills and capacity to prioritise workload and coordinate multiple demands.
- Sound knowledge of computers and standard software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office suite and relevant statistics packages (e.g., SPSS).
- Experience delivering cognitive behavioural therapies would be an advantage. (Essential for Level B)
- Experience delivering and/or familiarity with the literature surrounding digital mental health interventions, e.g., telehealth psychotherapy or using evidence-based online treatment programs and apps is preferred.
- Qualifications or experience in professional, clinical and/or digital content writing is preferred.
Qualifications
- Completion of Honours in psychology (or equivalent qualifications and/or experience relevant to mental health) (Level A)
- Postgraduate qualifications in psychology, counselling, social work or equivalent (Level B)
- Registration with the relevant professional body (Psychology board of Australia, AASW, PACFA/ACA) (Essential for Level B)
