Teach across the generalist social work curriculum, including foundational and practice-oriented courses.

Advise and mentor BSW students regarding academic progression, professional development, and preparation for field education.

Support field education through teaching field seminar, assisting with student readiness for field placement, and collaborating with field faculty/staff as needed.

Participate in curriculum development, course revision, program assessment, and continuous improvement activities.

Contribute to accreditation-related work, including assessment of student learning outcomes and program competencies.

Participate in faculty meetings, program committees, school/college/university service, and community or professional service.

Assist the BSW program director with undergraduate recruiting, admission, and new student orientation events that may be in the evenings or weekends.

Maintain currency in the social work profession, generalist practice, and undergraduate social work education.

Collaborate with faculty across the School of Behavioral & Community Health and the College of Health on interprofessional education, community engagement, and student success initiatives.

Support the mission of the BSW program, School, College, and University.

Applicants should have the ability to teach in at least four of the following BSW/generalist social work subject areas:

• Generalist social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities
• Human behavior in the social environment
• Social welfare policy and services
• Social work research methods
• Diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and social justice in social work practice
• Ethics and professional identity in social work
• Practice courses
• Field seminar and field education preparation
• Community engagement and macro practice

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program with at least two years of professional practice post-MSW graduation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of generalist social work practice.
• Ability to teach undergraduate social work courses in an in-person format.
• Commitment to student-centered teaching, advising, and mentoring.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and social justice.
• Ability to contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation activities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior teaching experience in a CSWE-accredited BSW or MSW program.
• Experience teaching face-to-face undergraduate social work courses.
• Experience with field education, field seminar instruction, field liaison work, or student preparation for field placement.
• At least five years of post-MSW social work practice experience.
• Experience with CSWE accreditation standards and competency-based social work education.
• Experience working with diverse student populations, first-generation students, and/or community-based partners.
