The Epidemiology, Clinical, Health Services, and Outcomes (ECHO) research group in the Pulmonary Center at Boston University is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Analyst to join our research team. The analyst will play a central role in in data management, statistical analysis, and dissemination of findings through abstracts, manuscripts, and reports. This individual will collaborate with investigators, biostatisticians, and project staff (both internal and external to Boston University) to ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting. This position is ideal for a candidate who is detail-oriented, thrives in a team-based academic environment, and is interested in pursuing a long-term career in research, medicine, public health, or data science. The candidate must have a strong track record of having worked on prior clinical research wrangling/cleaning large clinical datasets, and have references that can attest that the candidate can:

(1) complete tasks in an efficient, timely manner, (2) communicate both progress and obstacles to the primary investigator, and (3) independently identify and troubleshoot errors in programming.

Required Skills

A letter of recommendation and a sample of analytic code (ideally reflecting medical research experience) is required for consideration

Masters degree in Biostatistics or Data Science. 1-3 years of experience in clinical/health services research; prior experience with healthcare datasets is required, as well as a demonstrated ability to apply new analytic methods. Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software (R or Python; SAS familiarity a plus). Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large relational data sets in a cloud-based environment, with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with prior experience contributing to manuscripts or reports preferred. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment to meet deadlines. Familiarity with IRB processes, HIPAA regulations, and NIH-funded research.
