Clinical Research Assistant- Neurology

Department of Neurology at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to support clinical research projects. This full-time position will work collaboratively with two investigators, Dr. Kiran Maski (Sleep Medicine) and Dr. Mark Gorman (Child Neurology / Neuroimmunology), to support ongoing research studies and multi-site clinical research networks.

The Research Assistant will support patient recruitment, informed consent, research data collection (both from chart review, existing databases, and patient facing tasks), and database management across several studies. The position offers exposure to clinical research in pediatric sleep disorders and neuroimmunology, as well as opportunities to participate in hospital research seminars, neurology lectures, and grand rounds.
This position is based at Boston Children's Hospital sites in Boston and Waltham and involves collaboration with investigators and research teams across multiple institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research data collection and entry across multi-site studies using REDCap and other research databases
  • Assist with clinical research activities for a sleep clinical trial and collection of sleep and cognitive data at the Boston Children's Hospital Pediatric Sleep Center in Waltham
  • Assist with recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants
  • Obtain informed consent and collect research data from pediatric patients and families
  • Maintain research databases and ensure accurate and timely data entry
  • Assist with data organization, analysis preparation, and reporting for ongoing studies
  • Coordinate communication between Boston Children's Hospital and collaborating research sites
  • Participate in weekly research meetings and support day-to-day study operations

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, psychology, public health, or a related scientific field required.
  • Coursework or training in research methods, statistics, or biomedical sciences preferred.

Experience

  • Experience assisting with clinical or biomedical research preferred
  • Experience with research databases or statistical software (e.g., REDCap, SPSS, or similar) preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Epic preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple research tasks

Licensure / Certifications

  • Human subjects research training (e.g., CITI certification) preferred or must be obtained after hire.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
