Job Description Summary
To implement patient recruitment, screening and primary data collection within Dr. Childress, Kampman, and Regier's Psilocybin projects as well as the ongoing studies under those PIs, as a clinical research assistant at the Center for Studies of Addiction within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. This function requires comfort with computer/technical demands, as well as strong interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with patients, doctors, nurses, and investigators. The duties include screening, conducting interviews, collecting clinical data within medication trials, running imaging sessions, data collection, data entry, file upload, recruitment, and management of research data files/regulatory information. Knowledge of Excel and general computer knowledge is necessary.
To assist in fNIRS, MRI, and neurocognitive (behavioral) data collection and upload, and preliminary imaging analyses for Drs. Childress and Regier.
This function requires interaction with the study engineers, participants, and investigators, and would also entail upload and management of non-imaging data for integration with the imaging analyses. A background in: a) basic non-imaging statistics and programs (e.g., R, SPSS); b) behavioral task software (e.g., e-Prime, Psychopy; and/or imaging statistical packages (and/or programming platforms (e.g. SPM. MATLAB, FSL, AFNI) is a plus but not required.

- Become familiar with tasks and cognitive behavioral battery
- High School Grad/GED and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Excel and basic computer knowledge; SPSS, e-Prime, Psychopy are preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
