"Clinical Research Associate in Respiratory Medicine, Cambridge-GSK Translational Immunology Collaboration (CG-TIC) (Fixed Term)"

We seek a highly motivated Clinical Research Associate to join Professor James Nathan's group in the Department of Medicine. This exciting role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research to provide novel insights into the pathogenesis of respiratory disease, with a particular emphasis on collaborative work with the Cambridge-GSK Translational Immunology Collaboration (Cambridge-GSK Translational Immunology Collaboration). This is a new interdisciplinary partnership between the University of Cambridge and GSK, bringing together expertise from both partners.

The Clinical Research Associate will conduct high-quality research spanning a clinical cohort research study to explore endophenotyping and laboratory studies to investigate respiratory disease mechanisms. In the clinical cohort research study, the clinical research fellow will provide clinical support for the study; including bronchoscopy sampling. The studies will include integration of multi-omics and clinical data and will involve close collaboration with colleagues across CG-TIC and at GSK.

The position is based in the Department of Medicine. The chosen candidate will work in a dynamic, supportive team under the mentorship of Prof. James Nathan and the CG-TIC Respiratory Mechanisms of Disease research team. You will also work closely with Dr Marie Fisk and Dr Martin Knolle (Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), who will supervise the clinical research study.

The successful applicant will also have the potential option to undertake a PhD within this post. The higher degree will be based within the Department of Medicine.

Applicants should have a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and necessary clinical training experience in respiratory medicine. Experience of collaborative working will be extremely valuable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
