About us
The School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine & Sciences (SCMMS), is one of six schools that make up the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine (FoLSM) at King College London. The School drives translation of world-leading basic science into advances in clinical practices with activities focusing on the Cardiac Biomedicine Department of Diabetes and Vascular Biomedicine.
About the role
This is a clinical research role with the intention of supporting a fellow in applications for external grant funding and to provide the basis of PhD in Cardiovascular Science. The postgraduate student will be performing clinical research in patients with valvular heart disease including obtaining ethical approval, participant recruitment and data collection and analysis.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years, with proposed employment start dates of 1st October 2024 – 30th September 2027.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Registered with GMC
- Medical degree
- Intercalated Science degree (at least 2:1)
- Enrolled on Cardiology Specialty Training Programme
- Postgraduate research experience in healthcare- e.g. MSc
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to work co-operatively within the group
Desirable criteria
- Experience of supervision of students
- Experience of writing for publication
- Good organisational skills
