"Clinical-Scientist or Scientist - Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery"

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking clinician-scientists or scientists in the field of Cancer Research. UCSF has a history of strong clinical productivity and high-impact investigators dedicated to areas such as hearing loss, head and neck cancers, sleep disorders, and voice and swallowing disorders. We have collaborative research teams and aim to expand our research portfolio. The preferred candidate will have a secure track record of attaining funding as a principal investigator and experience supervising trainees and lab personnel. Applicants at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level are encouraged to apply.

Specific expertise in Head and Neck Cancer research is desirable but not mandatory. We seek individuals with a strong background in cancer research able to transition into including head and neck cancer. For clinician-scientists, clinical patient care will be in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and Endocrine Surgery. The main research location may include Mission Bay, Mount Zion, or Parnassus campuses at UCSF.

Required qualifications for Scientists:

• PhD degree, MD degree, or equivalent degree with research expertise in Cancer.

Required qualifications for Clinician Scientists:

• MD degree, MD/PhD degree, or equivalent degree with research expertise in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
• Completed accredited residency program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
• Board certified or eligible in the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

Preferred qualifications for Clinician Scientists:

• Clinical training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery with completed fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and board certified or eligible. All requirements must be met by hire time.
