Background
The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in nursing, midwifery, and allied healthcare professions. The University has invested over £8 million in the development of a state-of-the-art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation.
The Post
We are seeking to appoint two experienced Clinical Simulation Fellows with a commitment to contributing to the university’s excellence in teaching and learning. We welcome applications from both experienced academics and also practitioners/educators who have delivered simulation in clinical settings and are keen to develop an academic career. The School would also consider part-time working and/or secondments from staff employed in local healthcare organisations. This opportunity is open to current registrants.
As a Clinical Simulation Fellow, you will play a key role in facilitating simulation-based learning, and research and knowledge exchange across our healthcare provision. You will provide an excellent student experience in a variety of formats, where diversity, inclusivity and equality are celebrated. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated team players and in return we will support you through continued professional development.
The Person
You will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition and an inquiring mind. You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and knowledge exchange activities. Opportunity may also exist to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme. The University has an established career framework offering opportunity for promotion through an annual application process.
