We are seeking an experienced Clinical Training Support Coordinator to deliver and coordinate the operations of a dedicated clinical school, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs and strengthening regional medical training capacity across North Queensland.

About the role

The Clinical Training Support Coordinator plays a critical role in enabling high-quality teaching, learning and clinical training outcomes. The incumbent will supervise a team that is the first point of contact for all academic staff, clinicians and student enquiries, acting as an escalation point for complex enquiries and overseeing administrative processes that enable the teaching and learning agenda.

Working closely with Program Management and key health service partners, you will ensure effective delivery of clinical placements, training administration and student support, while fostering strong relationships across a geographically distributed network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and delivering operational support for a clinical school, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs.
  • Supervising and leading a team to deliver high-quality service outcomes, including performance management and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex enquiries from academic staff, clinicians, students, registrars and supervisors.
  • Overseeing the administration of teaching, clinical training and placements, including assessment processes, monitoring training progress and maintaining accurate records in relevant information systems.
  • Providing advice to Program Management on matters relating to integrated medical training at the local level.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key health service providers to enhance program quality and outcomes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualifications and/or experience appropriate to a HEWL 6 role under the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, with the ability to supervise and support a team to achieve outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities with limited direction.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Competency in the use of information systems and Microsoft Office or equivalent.
  • Contemporary knowledge of medical training and health service delivery in regional, rural or remote Australia (desirable).

Additional information:

  • Travel within Queensland and occasional after-hours work is required.
  • A current Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s licence is essential.
  • The role requires compliance with relevant Queensland Health directives and JCU policies.
