As the Cluster Lead within our Laboratory and Technical Services team, you will oversee the operational management of our hydro-, aero-, and thermodynamics, and smart grid laboratories. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with academic leaders, direct laboratory technicians, and manage state-of-the-art facilities to support groundbreaking research and teaching. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance, safety, and the seamless integration of new infrastructure and technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and Manage Laboratory Operations: Direct the activities of technical specialists and laboratory technicians, ensuring high-quality support for teaching, research, and industry collaborations.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Maintain laboratory quality and OHS standards, meeting all compliance and safety obligations.
- Innovate and Improve: Champion best practices and innovative solutions to enhance laboratory usability and support academic objectives.
- Oversee Equipment and Resources: Manage equipment maintenance and procurement within budgetary guidelines to meet laboratory needs.

You will have a relevant degree and experience in managing high-performing teams within engineering or scientific environments, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to safety and innovation.

You may also:
- Have a relevant degree and/or trade with experience in Fluid Dynamics, Energy and Propulsion Engineering.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively building and maintaining relationships.
- Have experience managing day-to-day activities of a high-performing team in higher education or industry R&D sectors.
- Possess knowledge of Australian OHS legislation and laboratory regulatory requirements.
