The Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities invites nominations and applications for a part-time Curricular Development Fellow to assist educational initiatives that support student professional development. Specific responsibilities for the position will be negotiated with the director.
Responsibilities
The role of the fellow is to support extracurricular educational initiatives for specific programs through administrative oversight and student engagement and mentoring in ways that align with the candidate’s professional background.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Advise students about professional career concerns both individually and collectively through group engagement.
- Contribute to the delivery of educational initiatives through professional interactions and standard-setting.
- Provide collaborative mentoring, as assigned, or substitute instructional support for educational initiative programing or engaged-learning activities.
- Participate in School colloquia and provide updates on developments and trends in the professional field through reading, participation in professional organizations, publications, public speaking and network development within the community.
- Support the unit’s efforts to infuse professional competencies and principles in line with accreditation expectations.
This is a temporary, part-time position during fall semester 2026 (08/31/2026 to 01/13/2027), spring semester 2027 (01/14/2027 to 05/30/2027), or both.
