About the recruiting Entity
The College of Computing is a central component of the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) with campuses in Benguerir and Rabat. The goal of the school is to set up an unprecedented research-education program, of international level, to address the UM6P challenges in terms of research and education, covering all aspects of computer science, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, data sciences, algorithms, databases, cloud computing, software engineering, networking, operating systems and security.
Job Description
The successful candidate will investigate robot learning methods for control and decision-making on edge robotic platforms. Research will focus on reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and the integration of large language, vision–language, and vision–language–action models to improve generalization. A key objective is to design lightweight and efficient learning architectures suitable for deployment on resource-constrained robotic systems. The postdoc will have access to state-of-the-art computational resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop novel methods for robot learning tailored to edge robotics.
- Validate and test these methods in both simulated and real robotic environments.
- Publish research findings in top-tier machine learning and robotics journals and conferences.
The selected candidate will work under the mentorship and guidance of Professor Mounir Ghogho.
Position Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong background in reinforcement and imitation learning for robotics.
- Experience with LLM, VLM or VLA.
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, and common ML libraries.
- Experience with ROS and simulators such as Isaac Gym or MuJoCo (this is a plus).
Criteria of the candidate
- PhD in the subject discipline
- Prove ability to perform multidisciplinary research and contribute to funded research programs.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written are important.
