Communications Specialist, Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL)

Job Description

The Communications Specialist for the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis plays a key role in sharing CELL’s mission and impact with both internal and external audiences. This position develops and implements strategic communication efforts that inform, engage, and inspire, ensuring that stakeholders clearly understand and connect with CELL’s work in advancing education innovation and excellence.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a communications role, with demonstrated success in developing and implementing communication strategies.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required (suggested majors include: Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations)

Promote CELL Programs & Events

  • Develop and execute communication and marketing strategies to promote CELL initiatives and events to diverse audiences.
  • Manage content and engagement across digital and social media platforms.
  • Serve as a point of contact for CELL media inquiries.

Content Development & Design

  • Create, update, and manage website content.
  • Draft and design email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and targeted email blasts in collaboration with project directors.
  • Design and produce digital and print materials, presentations, and other marketing collateral, tailoring messaging to each audience.
  • Assist project directors with any marketing and communications needs that may arise.

Brand & Engagement Management

  • Monitor, measure, and analyze engagement to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with the University’s Marketing & Communications department to share CELL news through institutional channels.

Professional Conduct

  • Follow directions from the supervisor and adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ethical, respectful, and responsible behavior.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
