Community Education Coordinator
Job Description
The Coordinator is responsible for oversight, planning, and coordination for certain aspects of pre-service, continuing education and community education programs related to substance misuse prevention and suicide prevention and coordinates the interface between these programs.
Duties:
- Develops and adapts resources to support and promote education programs
- Conducts activities needed to support needs assessments and evaluations related to education programs
- Plans support strategies for pre-service, continuing education and community education initiatives.
- Establishes partnerships with partner organizations
- Manages support for the development and implementation of training resources.
- Develops new orientation materials for partner groups.
- Modifies current orientation and promotion materials for use with partner groups and consultants.
- Coordinates internal and external partner activities, develops mechanisms for integrating needs assessments and ongoing review.
- Provides editing and formatting to ensure that all products adhere to publication standards set by the organization and the University.
- Develops and disseminates monthly communications.
- Develops and implements support for product dissemination plans
- Maintains data on dissemination of products.
- Develops reports for grants, research projects, and other documents that are needed for reporting on accomplishments.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or closely related field, AND:
- 24 months experience developing education products or related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months experience.
Skills:
- Skilled in educational or marketing program development and coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to develop educational or marketing products for various learners, use of multi-media strategies for educational products, and dissemination of information and materials.
- Knowledge of adult learning strategies and methodology and interdisciplinary practices,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups in planning, developing, and evaluating products.
- Skilled in grant writing and administration of grant-funded projects.

None
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively. Use of a computer. Manual dexterity. Standard Office Environment.
Departmental Preferences:
- Experience working on a suicide prevention resource center project
