Position Highlights
The University is looking for a Community Outreach Assistant II. This position is based at the Graham County Cooperative Extension Office in Solomon, Arizona, and offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of young children in the community. As part of the Child Care Health Consultation (CCHC) initiative, the selected candidate will serve as a Child Care Health Consultant (CCH Consultant)-a health professional who partners with early care and education (ECE) program administrators and teaching staff in both center- and home-based settings. In this role, you will support and empower participants to strengthen their knowledge and implementation of best practices in health and safety, helping to create healthier, safer learning environments for children. The position involves building strong partnerships with early childhood education providers throughout Graham County, delivering engaging trainings, and contributing to the development and presentation of educational content on a regular basis. You will play a key role in advancing community health through education, collaboration, and outreach. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE with benefits). The schedule will be determined based on program needs, requiring some flexibility to effectively meet community and program demands. Ongoing communication and collaboration with the Assistant in Extension will be essential to ensure program success, including providing updates on lessons and overall program progress.
This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support for Quality First rated Early Child Care Centers in Graham/Greenlee Counties to develop Health and Safety plans, work with Quality First Coaches and Directors to create annual plan of actions.
- Responsible for answering inquiries and providing information relating to completion of forms, meetings, materials, and record keeping.
- Understand the existing curriculum and materials to effectively plan, deliver, and educate the program participants.
- Keep accurate record of program participants, topics covered, activities completed and prepare monthly reports.
- Assist with outreach at the library, recreation centers, or special events by working at a table and handing out fliers to recruit teachers and parents.
- Provide information about the Graham County Cooperative Extension, and what the specific program offers.
- Provide monthly/quarterly meetings with ECE directors as a group for support and ideas they share or new information from the First Things First and Quality First programs as each center needs.
- Assist with development of educational materials for instruction by watching training videos with the team and brainstorming as a group how to incorporate the information into the curriculum.
- Assist with transitioning the training materials to an early learning level, or to a more advanced learning level.
