Community Program Co-ordinators
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Open Academy is seeking three Community Program Co-ordinators to provide administrative support for short courses, workshops and music lessons for children, students, musicians, music educators, and the community at large. Please note that this role may entail duties outside regular hours and on weekends.
The Open Academy is committed to promoting community music-making and offers numerous short courses and lessons designed to provide adults and children with the skills and knowledge to pursue their musical interests, curiosity, or find a creative outlet for their talents in a collaborative group learning or individual environment catering to beginners right through to experienced musicians.
The full time role and one part time role will administer the Short Courses, Workshops and Festivals program. The second part time role will administer the program providing 1:1 lessons for the community, both adults and children. Please specify in your application which roles you are interested in.
Your key responsibilities will include: coordinating classes, events and lessons, providing administration and production support for Open Academy short courses, workshops, festivals and individual lessons; undertaking promotion of Open Academy programs; addressing inquiries from staff, students, visitors, and the public through phone, email, and in-person interactions relating to courses and events.
About you: strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a range of cultural events with varying requirements and timelines successfully; an ability to work both independently and as part of a team; excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of inquiries and providing excellent customer service; advanced computer skills and experience including database management, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites and CMS website management systems; possess a music-related tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in a community, performing arts, or adult education environment; the ability to undertake some duties outside regular hours and on weekends; have an interest in the promotion of community music education and music making.

Pre-employment checks: Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University. Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
