Overview

The Princeton University Art Museum seeks an engaged, detail-oriented, adaptable, confidential, and versatile Conservation Studio Coordinator who thrives in a collaborative and goal-oriented environment. Reporting to the Chief Conservator and working in close coordination with the Objects Conservator and the Paper Conservator. The Conservation Studio Coordinator assists the Conservation unit in the overall coordination of its activities.

This is a part-time position at 60% time or for 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Conservation Studio Coordinator include: assisting conservation staff with general administrative duties (including specialized material and equipment purchases, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations in close coordination with EHS and OHS, meeting schedules, and visitor coordination), managing logistical and contractual needs of contracted external conservators (in coordination with the Chief Conservator and the Museum’s finance department), and facilitating art movements in and out of the Conservation Studios. Another important aspect of the job is locating and organizing conservation files and technical images in preparation for a future digitization project, uploading images and reports into TMS, and coordinating content for social media and the website.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of 3 years of administrative experience.
  • Evidence of a track record of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with an eye for detail and an ability to adapt while working collaboratively.
  • A good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
