Coordinator, Simulation Lab
The Simulation Coordinator is responsible for assistance with selecting, maintaining, operating, and organizing the course related simulation scenarios. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with the Nursing Dept. Simulation Lab Manager and Purchasing Tech, programming and updating scenario progressions, providing regular maintenance of equipment including manikins and computers, creating and storing moulage, maintaining an inventory of simulation supplies and determining if within budgetary allowance to order, updating technology systems, setting and resetting the simulation lab suite, providing AV assistance, course scheduling, assisting with research and data collection, and adhering to OSHA guidelines in the simulation settings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR Certification.
- 3 years in related profession as simulation coordinator OR comparable role.
- Skilled in use of computer software, hardware and basic applications, audio-visual equipment, and the operation and maintenance of manikins, moulage training.
- Administrative skills related to updating and programming scenarios, course scheduling, inventory of equipment, and data collection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nursing License.
- Certificate in Simulation.
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).
- Familiar with NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model, the nursing process and INACSL Standards.
- Three years of customer service leadership experience, particularly in high-volume, student-facing environments.
The duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.
- Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
Preferred Experience:
- Basic knowledge of physiological, pharmacological, psychological, social-cultural, and spiritual nursing concepts.
- Ability to assist with the research of appropriate course scenarios in relation to student learning gaps.
- Ability to develop a simulation schedule for multiple nursing course sections.
- Ability to apply appropriate manikin moulage to enhance simulation scenarios.
