Coordinator, Student-Athlete Development
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Life and Development, the Coordinator will implement NCAA and Big West student-athlete development programming and initiatives focused on key areas including professional development, career development, self-discovery initiatives, leadership development, life-skills, and wellness education for student athletes based on their unique needs.
In consultation with Athletics Senior Women's Administrator, the incumbent will help develop and implement programming and events including community service, civic engagement, and campus involvement efforts to engage student athletes, promote belonging, and support department efforts. The person will also serve as a liaison between Athletics and Student Affairs, and other Divisions and departments across campus to collaborate and coordinate services in support of the needs of student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Athlete Development - Be a Champion Program - In collaboration with Bickerstaff Academic Center (BAC) and Athletics, coordinate the "Be a Champion Program (BCP)" for Student Athletes.
- Design and implement educational leadership programming to enhance the student learning experience and engagement using a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion framework.
- Work proactively with other members of the department to address student life issues and SLD major programs such as, but not limited to, Student Leadership Summit and Celebration of Leadership.
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.
- Master's in counseling, student personnel or other related social sciences preferred.
