Job Summary
The coordinator, student counseling resource center (SCRC) is responsible for performing a variety of routine customer service, clerical, and administrative duties according to established procedures. This position also provides training and assistance to department staff.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
Job Responsibilities and Execution
- Schedules student counseling sessions
- Conducts pre-assessment before scheduling appointment to determine appropriate session timeline and identify need for emergency session in cases of crisis
- Coordinates front desk coverage
- Produces and formats documents, including composition, editing, proofreading, and aggregation of data
- Schedules and organizes complex activities, such as meetings, travel, conferences, and departmental activities
- Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls
- Maintains appropriate supply inventory for the office
- Compiles information and organizes it into relevant reports
- Collects, organizes, and composes correspondence for department staff
- Maintains filing systems and utilizes basic word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills
- Assists with data collection and management of immunizations and student health insurance
- Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary
- Assists with and coordinates professional meetings
- Participates in department meetings as requested
- Supports the maintenance of SCRC social media and web page updates

Communication, Teamwork, and Collaboration
- Answers phones, responds to email, forwards messages, and confirms appointments
- Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies including high-level staff
- Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior relevant work experience preferred

- Highly organized, motivated, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously

Physical Abilities
- Ability to work effectively at a computer for up to eight hours daily
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
