Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has been providing clinical and operational support to correctional facilities throughout West Texas and other regional areas. We serve approximately 30,000 patients utilizing a broad range of comprehensive medical and health services. TTUHSC Managed Care strives to positively impact the lives of our patients, to include many who had no previous access to quality health care.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Practice Medicine with Purpose and Impact

Join our dedicated healthcare team at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Managed Care where your clinical expertise directly improves the lives of an underserved patient population. As a Correctional Physician, you will provide comprehensive medical care, diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, and exercise independent clinical judgment in a dynamic and rewarding environment. This role offers the opportunity to practice meaningful medicine while maintaining a strong focus on quality, continuity of care, and patient outcomes.

Working under the general direction of the Unit Medical Director, you will have broad latitude to make clinical decisions and manage patient care. In addition to providing direct medical services, you will supervise and mentor 2–4 Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners), helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare across the unit. This position is ideal for physicians seeking a collaborative, mission-driven practice setting with leadership responsibilities and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
