This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Manchester Mental Health Support Team. This university-based service is a multi-disciplinary team of Counsellors, Senior Counsellors, Mental Health Practitioners and other support staff providing a range of mental health support and psychological interventions for students at the University of Manchester. You will work alongside the broader team to develop, embed and maintain effective working partnerships with colleagues, students, and other relevant stakeholders. The overarching focus is the delivery of high quality psychological and mental health support to enhance student experience.
You will have a professional counselling qualification or similar, e.g. Masters in Counselling; Cognitive Analytic Therapy; CBT. You will have significant post qualifying experience, a minimum of 1500 post qualifying clinical hours. You will have substantial experience of carrying a caseload of 5 or more clinical contacts per day. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in working in the HE sector with up-date knowledge of relevant psychological and mental health interventions. You will provide short-term psychological interventions to undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will have significant training and experience in assessment, formulation and structured interventions. You will be able to identify significant mental health difficulties and undertake thorough risk assessments. You will be able to work collaboratively and flexibly within a diverse team.
Please note that we operate on campus and in-person. There may be some remote appointment provision and some working from home allowed but predominately you will be expected to work on site.
