Number of Months Assignment: Part-Time pools are open continuously and applicants are contacted/hired for assignments based on the college needs.
Starting Date: As Needed - This is to establish a pool for future part-time counseling/teaching positions.

Basic Function/Definition
This recruitment is to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or divisions will refer to the pool of applicants on file to fill temporary assignments as needed. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department or division be interested in scheduling an interview.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling. A bachelor's degree in one of the above listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline, pursuant to Title 5, Section 53410.1.

A valid California Community College Counselor Credential
OR
The equivalent.
AND
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Equivalencies
A Master's degree in education with an emphasis in counseling that includes a minimum of 24 graduate level units in counseling courses AND a graduate level counseling practicum or internship in a community college setting.
Responsibilities
Assignment may include teaching courses as assigned during day or evening, weekday or weekends or online.
Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
Position Description
Applications are now being accepted for Counselor, Hourly Part-Time (Not to exceed 24 hours per week) to fulfill current and anticipated needs in General Counseling, Student Equity, Dual Enrollment & Outreach, Student Success Center, and other special population programs.

Additional Information
