Department Information
The Georgia Tech Postal Services is a one-stop shop providing quality mail service to students, faculty and staff of the Georgia Tech community in an efficient, courteous and professional manner. We strive to consistently exceed service expectations with each interaction and to be a leading provider of campus mail services, setting a standard for excellence in innovation, efficiency and customer driven operations, service, teamwork and team development, sustainability and fiscal responsibility.
Job Summary
Provide services involving the receipt, storage and delivery of items within a campus unit and/or on a campus-wide basis which may include mail, packages, materials and supplies. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: supervisor, co-workers and delivery customers. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
- Receive and verify condition of incoming shipments.
- Pull, load and account for items for delivery.
- Locate recipients and delivery items which may involve operation of motor vehicle.
- Provide work guidance to other courier personnel as required.
- Maintain loading and receiving area, mail and supply rooms in orderly condition.
- Maintain inventory and delivery records.
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma.
Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
This job requires skills in performing stocking and delivery of supplies including scheduling and maintenance of related records and operation of loading/unloading equipment and motor vehicle. Customer service skills are also required.
