Are you a creative thinker who thrives on bringing ideas to life through compelling design? Within a highly collaborative team environment, this role drives creative strategy and guides the production of a wide variety of creative design projects, from concept to completion. The position acts as the primary partner with Development and Alumni Relations for all creative needs, including design of annual giving campaigns, including design and production of comprehensive campaign materials, Grinnell College magazine, donor reports, and other digital, social, and print design projects.
The role also stewards brand identity by designing and overseeing production of strategic projects in partnership with designated College vendors (printers, digital development partners, photographers, and freelancers) while ensuring all materials conform to College identity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality creative materials that maintain College identity and brand standards and meet production objectives. Ensure that all digital graphics are ADA accessible (WCAG 2.2+).
- Consult with stakeholders and contribute to the development of strategic communications and marketing plans, including defining needs, strategy, and project parameters.
- Manage workflow and communication, coordinating projects among the OCM team, campus partners, and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
- Actively engage in professional development to advance discipline expertise and strategic communications and marketing knowledge.
- Maintain facility with multiple design software packages and platforms, consistently applying advanced technical skills to support creative production (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, digital layout and publishing tools, and related design platforms).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Creative Design, Multimedia Design or equivalent.
- Five years or more of related work experience.
- Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (relational databases, and operating systems) and advanced features of software packages (word-processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).
- A high degree of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, knowledge of prepress requirements, experience adhering to visual identity standards, proficiency with digital accessibility standards. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and related platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MARQ or similar graphic design temple platforms. Experience designing to meet a creative brief. Digital-first design experience and motion graphics experience. Experience editing video.
